How it works

Three steps. About fifteen seconds.

No account, no calls, no sales pitch — just the same independent scoring we apply to every quote.

PDF, photo, or screenshot — whatever you've got from the installer. You can add a second quote alongside to compare side-by-side.

We score it against the methodology

Every quote is checked against the same 30+ factors covering quality, value, and trust. The full methodology is published.

You see what's strong, and what to ask about

A clear grade for each category, with specifics. When something isn't stated, we flag it as a question to ask — not a red flag to panic about.

The problem

Why comparing quotes is so hard.

It's not your fault. The industry has no incentive to make this simple — so the same line on every quote can mean wildly different things.

01

Quotes use language none of us can understand.

Jargon

The words sound technical, so they sound trustworthy. Most homeowners have no baselineto judge whether what they're being sold is good, average, or poor.

Question worth asking
What's the actual U-value of these units, and how does that compare to the legal minimum?
02

Guarantees look the same on the surface.

Look-alike

Every company offers “10 years.” But what does it actually cover? Is it transferable if you sell? Can the company still honour it in a decade? Those questions separate a real guarantee from a marketing line.

Question worth asking
Is the guarantee insurance-backed, parts-and-labour, and transferable to a new owner?
03

Price tells you almost nothing on its own

Incomplete

£4,200 could be excellent value or terrible value — it depends on specification, building regs sign-off, making-good, and who's actually fitting the windows. You can't compare prices without comparing everything else first.

Question worth asking
What's included in this price, and what gets billed as a separate extra?
04

The problems surface after you've paid.

Hidden costs

Subcontracted fitters with no direct accountability. Guarantees that don't survive a company restructure. Deposits that leave you exposed if the business folds. By the time you discover it, it's already too late.

Question worth asking
Are the installers directly employed, and what protects my deposit if the company closes?
That's the gap we close

We check 30+ factors against the same published standards — for every quote.

Five categories. One scale from 0 to 100. Every weighting documented in the methodology.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Uploading a quote and receiving your score is completely free. We earn revenue when we connect homeowners with companies — not from homeowners.

We score across five categories: product quality, guarantees and aftercare, installation quality, company trust, and value for money. Each has specific, published criteria with point allocations. Read the full methodology on our How it works page.

No. Company recommendations are based entirely on match scores calculated from your needs and objective quality data. No company receives preferential placement for commercial reasons.

When you complete the needs questionnaire, we score every company in our database against your specific requirements — product types, budget, priorities like guarantee length or Scottish manufacturing. We return the top three by match score.

If our AI returns a confidence score below 60%, you'll be offered a manual entry form instead. It covers the same data points and typically takes under two minutes to fill in.

Your quote data is used only to calculate your score and, if you request it, to connect you with companies. We never sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy policy.

Yes. We score the quote itself — product spec, guarantees, terms, and price. Company trust scores will be lower for unknown companies because we don't have their trading history, but the quote score still gives you a useful comparison.
