Why we built this
The problem with window quotes
Getting windows and doors replaced is one of the larger purchases most homeowners make. Quotes are often complex, jargon-heavy, and deliberately difficult to compare — even side by side.
A homeowner in Edinburgh shouldn't need to be an expert in U-values, PAS 24 certification, and guarantee law just to make a good decision. We built QuoteScore so you don't have to be.
How we score
Independent. Transparent. Published.
Every scoring decision is published in full on our Methodology page. Five categories, each out of 100 points, weighted equally. Product quality, guarantees, installation, company trust, and value for money.
No company pays to improve their score. No quote receives special treatment. If you think we've got a criterion wrong, we want to hear it.
Company selection
How we select companies
Companies in our database are researched and scored using the same criteria we apply to quotes. We look at trading history, ownership stability, customer review data, certifications, and Scottish presence.
Companies do not pay to be listed. Recommendations are based entirely on match quality against your stated needs.
Scotland focus
Built for Scotland
QuoteScore is built specifically for Scottish homeowners and the Scottish market. Building regulations in Scotland differ from England — FENSA certificates, for example, have no legal standing here. We score to reflect Scottish standards.
We weight for local presence, manufactured-in-Scotland, and companies with a genuine track record north of the border.
Questions or challenges?
If you believe a score is inaccurate, a company record is out of date, or a criterion should be reconsidered, we want to know. QuoteScore improves through challenge.
